It was a beautiful day out today, the sun falling on my face, the cool breeze, the not shivering because it's fucking freezing out!!!! The Head Cheese(the owner) was back at work today, the first time in almost 3 weeks, so everybody was in 'look busy' or 'give me something to do' mode. So things are back to having 'big brother' around. So here's a question to all my readers, the 3 of you know who you are, "What would you do if you won the lottery worth $300,000,000?" Remember my name is a link to my e-mail, feel free to feedback. Thanks to K for the question. Til the next post...

Another day at the Salt Mine and I've survived. Had vegetable curry for dinner and had to go get sour cream, not used in the fixing of dinner mind you, and Tums... odd request I thought, but I did as asked and I got to get out and do something meaningful. It makes me feel useful. I need to figure out my living arrangements. I want to be independent but I like my security too. I got a card from NIU today that said I need to submit my transcripts and a certified copy of my ACT score to them to finish my application for admission. WTF I say. WHATTT?????? I never took the ACT. Why should I the SAT was supposed to mean more and be 'worth' more? But Illinois needs to see my ACT scores. So I need to contact Admissions and find out if I have to take the ACT's or something. That's a bunch of bullshit, that's all I have to say. So I think I'm going to hit that sack and start another day at the salt mines tomorrow, an early day only until 3.

Hot off the presses... Google buys Pyra Labs owners/runners of Blogger. Read about it here, if you wanna.

That's the news as I see it, now for some more of the mindless dribble viewers of this site are used to. Work was work today though it was filled with more hilarity than norm. After work I got my insurance taken care of so now I am completely legal in Illinois. When Matt came home we ate Tortilini's covered in a homemade Oil, Garlic, and Sun-dried Tomato sauce. Good stuff. After eating dinner while watching Buffy on UPN, Matt, Emily and I played Tekken 3 a lot. Emily handed us our asses for most of the time. But it was fun times, it had been a long while since I've sat down and played fighting games that long. Good times, good times. Matt's playing Myth II: Soulblighter and he keeps insisting that I should start playing too. It a neat game and it has it's interesting moments, but I know it'll suck me in if I really start to enjoy it. Maybe I'll try it, it looks good. He's also got tons of extras for it. Well I think it's time for my shower and then to bed with me.

It’s Monday, and I’m home from work, watching Monster Garage on the Discovery Channel, and drinking Lawson Creek Red Ale. I’m a big fan of their Vanilla Cream Stout, it gets bad reviews but I think it’s a damn good beer. And cheap, Lawson Creek is only $5.99 at the local liquor store. I ate some homemade Chicken & Shells Soup when I got home. Mmmm good (notice the use of one mmmm and not two, I wouldn’t want to infringe any copyrights). On Monster Garage they’re turning a Mini Cooper into a Monster Snowmobile. An interesting concept. We’ll see if it works. I think that’s it for now from me.

Another lazy weekend around the apartment. Matt's sick and has been for the last few days, I just hope it doesn't do me in too. Work is still just work not a lot going on, I'm the supervisor now and I make a little more but not what I'd like to make. I have decided that I need to change some of my attitudes and ideas about some different things and maybe that will fix some of the situations in my life. It's time for me to move on from the past and start my new life. Get a place, start figuring things out on my own, going out more on my own, but I have gotten better at that. I really can't wait for school to start again, I need that, 'something new', not that moving over 400 miles away wasn't something NEW, but I need that Intelectual thing again. School. I need a lot of things but we'll take all of this one step at a time.

This weekend marks my one month anniversary here in Dekalb. It's still a little strange and new but it's becoming routine. We had a shit load of snow on Friday, not as much as back home I guess, they got at least 16in by this afternoon and it was still snowing. We only got around 3-4in. Friday I was on my way over to Katie's apartment and the snow was pretty bad, so bad I had to leave my car in a parking lot and she had to come and pick me up. I couldn't get any traction, I guess it's time for tires, no more tires without a snow rating from here on out. Talk about a little embarrassing. And to make matters worse I misunderstood that she was coming over to my place. So she drove all the way over here and then back to her apt. and after I called from a payphone she had to come and get me. Man, I am such a dork. But I am very grateful that she came and got me. We hung out and watched Austin Powers: Goldmember. And then were snowed in. For some reason, the people up here don't believe in plowing their streets until its REALLY bad. And then it doesn't do much good anyway. Stupid small town. Last night I went to see Shanghai Knights after dinner with Matt and Melina. Pretty funny movie if I do say so. And dinner was pretty good too. Chicken In Wine and Potatoes. It was called something in French but I can't remember what it was... Carq something-or-other? Maybe. Well Matt is on his way back from working at school and I guess we're going to watch a rented movie with Emily so I should wrap up the post. Watched the 300th Episode of The Simpsons, and then the 301st afterwards, and they were good. Maybe not the best episodes ever, but great nonetheless. And now the Married With Children Reunion special is on. I miss that show and I'm glad that sometimes you can catch reruns on FOX but it was a great compliment to The Simpsons when it was on Sunday nights. 2 great dysfunctional families, what more could you ask for in an hour of comedy on one night?

I must apologize for the long delay in posts. I am in DeKalb now and am doing fine. I've been here one month this weekend and I'm still living on my brothers couch, but that should change soon. I'm working at the Village Commons Bookstore, the off campus bookstore for Northern Illinois University. I've been spending time at the bar and drinking lots of cheap Guinness, $2.50 a pint, that’s damn good!!! And some Baileys on the rocks, that’s some good shit right there. I've been real busy trying to get things in order and adapt to the changes that have presented themselves to me. I pursued the girl I was interested in that I mentioned before. And now I'm just waiting to see if anything will happen between us, she's real busy with grad school. I really like this girl a lot and I guess we'll see what happens, not counting my chickens before they've hatched that's for damn sure. I think that's really about it, just working and living, making it through one day at a time. So, everyone back home, take it easy and I'll update on a more regular basis.
